Default Help with Sat Nav Software

I loaded an update of Igo8 software & I don't like it. So I've been trying to load old Igo8 with no luck.

I go to nav setup - press folder for files - screen changes to either 'programme' or ' .. ' but shows no file options. Nothing to scroll down to - no igo8.exe, just blank ?

What am I doing wrong - urgent help needed as journey is pending.

Hi Alf,
Is the new copy of Igo8 still working?
If it is all you need to do is change the skin on that and it will make it the same as your original version to look at

Load it up,
Press Menu, press settings, press right arrow, press menu, press skin, press default, press yes.
Should be done

Hi Jeff

Not having much luck this end !

Using the Igo8.exe tony fry software,I have tried to change the skin in the menu, but it says it's already on default skin.

I have tried to load my original igo8.exe software again, but it still won't load. As I said previously when I go to folders in setup, it will not show any files. I think there must be software fault. So I'm now stuck. The only solution I can think of is for me to purchase a new copy of my original Igo8.exe software. Do you have copies that I can buy and maybe download, or do I have to go to Sean.

The next problem: The disc player. I have tried your suggestion of disconnecting battery for a few hours to see if it resets, but no luck, it looks like disc player back to you for repair.
I know repair costs are as is, but can you give me a rough idea of postage costs from me to you, and back again.

On the bright side () I have now fitted all my infinity speakers at long last. Now all I need is to be able to play something to listen to !!!

As always, every thing is rather urgent, so look forward bto some asdvice.

Cheers

Alf

Hi Alf,

If you are thinking of sending the unit back to me for repair then I guess it would make sense for me to sort out your navigation software at the same time

With regard to the cd playback it would depend on whether the drive needs servicing or the laser has failed and needs replacing.
A service would cost £29.95 plus return postage.
A replacement optical assembly would be more but I would quote you on that before carrying out that sort of repair as it may be more cost effective to upgrade the unit.

Hope that helps Sir

Hi Jeff

Super fast reply as always. Thank you.

Your suggestion of back to you for sat nav & cd player makes sense.

I can't remove unit until 15th, but I will get it back to you then & hopfully it can be sorted.

Can you let me have address for return:

Thanks Jeff

Will be sending DD back 15th approx.

What would the upgrade options for my unit be. Whatever I do I would want to be able to use the original Igo8.exe software ( Her indoors likes it) !

Cheers

Hi Alf,

If you wish to use igo8 you will need the MgrWinCe head units like you have already.
The new version of your unit looks the same but has a revised menu system which is easier to use and also benefits from better sound quality as well
You would need to drop Sean a Pm and he can discuss upgrade costs for you Sir.
