Default Fog Lamp plug

I recently purchased a new Valeo left side fog lamp Ref. 088197 destined -according to the vendor to both 75 pre and after face lift (good price 45€ including the halogen bulb). The lamp fits prefectly into the bumper but the electrical connection on my yr 2000 75 CDT harness does not.
The bulb in the original Valeo fog lamp is H1 while that of the 088197 lamp is a H11LL ("Long life") with a perfectly known PGJ19-2 socket. The original fog lamp has it own connector while the 088197 model doesn't: the harness fits directly in the H11 halogen bulb socket.
I do not wish to return the lamp & am desperatly looking for a plug to fit the PGJ19-2 socket so as to just splice it on the car harness. Do you have any idea of where this can be purchased?

A couple visits to junk yards yielded nothing, perhaps because the H11 bulb is too recent.
Attached is a pic of the original fog lamp connector and H11 bulb socket.

Best Regards. Jean-Pierre

Default Fog lamp/Answer to Dave

Hello,

As the pic may not show, the original socket inside measurement is 13x7.2mm fot the original lamp as opposed to 17.4x8 for the H11 bulb. Furthermore, the 2 flat pins in the sockets are parallel for both cases but perpendicular to each other.

Regards. Jean-Pierre

Hi Jean-Pierre

The same thing happened to me when I ordered a replacement fog light about a year ago for my CDT. For some reason the diesels connections are different to the petrol models.....

Sorry to say I still need a replacement. Whan I see the fogs on Ebay I always ask if they will fit a diesel but never get beyond this point (they usually want me to phone them, and i forget). To be honest, I've kinda not bothered to put a lot of time into finding another one. But the lens is cracked and has gone yellow now so my 75 looks quite sad from the front..... I have a look for breaking diesels on ebay when I can remember...

I guess finding a breaking diesel from the same year should be the best option. I don't think many people are aware of the differences in connections.
