Default speedo not working

hi all my problem is my speedo not working on my diesel rover 75 tourer could just be a cable.wonderde if anyone else has had this problem and what it was.

Yes it's a common problem, it's caused by the abs signal not being picked up from the front drivers side sensor.
Either it will be a break in the wiring to the sensor, or a failed sensor

If you use the forum search you'll find lots of posts on how to fix it

It's discussed occasionally and is usually related to the OSF ABS sensor. Apart from the obvious purpose, it also provides the signal used by the ECU to drive the speedometer. The speedo isn't cable driven, it uses a stepper motor.

Is the ABS warning lit up?
