There's only 3 wires to extend by approx 12"

2 cables to resistor
1 remaining cable to the motor. (as in the thread Arctic points to)

I've used 4mm cable in the past
As long as its no thinner than the original gauge you should be OK

Here you go Steven knew I had the pic.
You can see where all the wires go.

If you're using your old 3 speed loom into the 2 speed box, the 2 brown positives need to become 2 x -Negs.

Grey circuit goes via resistor
Red circuit effectively shorts out the resistor and hence goes to MOTOR BLACK

Easiest way to achieve that is cut thick black and browns BEFORE they split near the plug ends and swap them over.

The thin black that is earth for the PCB will be retained and joined the thick black at the plug end.
Less cable joins if you do it that way.

PURPLE circuit not used anymore for 2 speed and can be cut off.
Final change will be to connect the THIN GREY to the Red/Blue as in top pic

Hi Jules when you say the two brown pos need to become 2 x neg where do i fit them ie where do they go.

well with this rain i am stuck, added to that i think i have just fitted the resistor to the wire what is already coming from the two speed. when if i use my loom i should not have
