These problems are usually caused by hydrostatic locks due to contamination of the upper passages by foreign bodies. The build up of pressure eventually vents via the lower valve causing a loss of fluid from the system accompanied by rumbling from the mains. This may lead to the other half being affected by the laughing shaft or giggling pin. I have little sympathy for anyone who would use these inferior fuels and lubricants in such a normally well oiled machine. Use these suppliers at your peril!
