Howdy. I remember once I had a Denon DP2000 turntable. A wonderful beast....

Sometimes miss my old deck that I sold a few years back.
John Michell Mycro Deck with Rega rb300 arm and Sumiko Blue point cartridge.
Played a nice tune or two on her.
I'll try and find a picture of my old system but here's a library photo in the meantime .

I did and I love it! Had a reasonable quality "bridge" camera but decided it was time for a DSLR, I used to have a fair size 35mm SLR outfit before going digital. I got an outfit on Ebay, well sort of, found it on Ebay and did the deal outside, he only lived a few miles away, saved me some money and no sellers fees!

Couldn't believe the difference in image quality and colour saturation. I got a Canon EOS 400D, by no means a new model but I still find it great. Came with the standard 18-55 kit lens, memory card, spare battery, strap, manuals etc, guy threw in a bag as well. To that I added a bigger zoom (70-210) and battery grip, allows you to carry two batterys which prolongs shooting time and gives you more camera to get hold of, also you have the option of using AA batterys in an emergency.

Found a picture of my old system which consisted of the Mycro deck, Yamaha Dsp Ax2 amp, Jvc Hdd/Dvd recorder, Yamaha Dvd player and a Yamaha Hdd cd recorder.

I've still got all my old SLR kit - it doesn't seem to be worth anything now!
I used a good old East German Practika for donkey's years - together with about a dozen different lenses which I bought over the years - including a 500mm telephoto, teamed with a shotgun stock mount so that I could 'fire' pix from the shoulder -very useful for trying to catch fast-moving rally cars in dark Scottish, Welsh and English forests! Some of the results were superb - but I must admit the ease of use of a bridge camera has impressed me - set to "auto", I have been really chuffed with the results. My current Fuji is only 4 megapixels, with 10x optical zoom - and I wouldn't mind improving on both of those. However, with SWMBO joining me on the 'retired register' next month, I'm not wanting to spend lots of cash.
