There are really three options

Standard quad pipes - generally felt to be too muted and don't make enough of the V8 burble

X-powers - twin ovals - much louder, some say too much resonance in the cabin but I don't find that with mine and the wife's never worried about the noise. X-powers getting increasingly hard to get hold of now

Zero's - quad pipes giving more of a V8 burble, retaining the original look but not as loud as the X-powers by any means. Some have commented they are a bit on the pricy side

Other than this you're looking a bespoke systems as some 260 owners have gone for

I would recommend to visit any of the Longlife, Powerflow exhausts branch and get a quote. I got a semi sport system (just back boxes) fitted to my S-Type R for £280 all in. I would pay abput £450 for full catback with balance pipe which improves performance but decided to leave it for later. I can't believe the prices would be much different for ZT260 as the system would be pretty similar on both cars.

As ragman said on the "off the shelf " front, however the suppl of Xpowers seems to have dried up. bear in mind if purchasing for a tourer the boxes are the same but the tailpipes need to be 3 inches longer than the saloon

the only thing required on the 260 if going down the longlife/powerflow route is a pair of back boxes.

if you get over to the two-sixties and get assimilated there are threads with soundclips.

I currently have my rear boxes off- now that is LOUD.

If it were me I would go for the zeros, they are top notch materials and build quality
