Default How to fit door finishers

Hi guys

I'm looking to fit some Croft door finishers to my 75. How do I go about doing this? What is the best thing to use to make them stick? I don't want them ever falling off...

Thanks.

A good quality automotive, double sided tape would do the job Rav
One like this 3M, top quality and only 1.1mm thick http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-3M...YAAOSwvg9XXW7i

You'd probably find some cheaper, that was just the first one I saw. Used it for my torpedo badges and they ain't fell off yet

Oh, dear. I think Paul wants me to drop my finishers so he can scoop them up for himself. I see what you did there, Paul...

The thing to remember with the Croft's finishers is they are shallower than the OEM design. So, when applied to the depression under the door handle only the outer area is in contact. This means if you use double-sided tape, it needs to go just around the outside edge. Personally, I just used a standard silicone gloop, applying a suitable dollop in the middle of the finisher back. This means it sticks over a wider area and judiciously used, won't squeeze out around the edges. Mine's been fine since these finishers first came on the scene.

If I got the timing right, they should have fallen off just as you we leaving the Gretna meet, you'd then have got home thinking they'd fell off on the M74 when really, I picked them up as I left just after you. My master plan has been rumbled

Using the 3M tape, and properly degreasing the area where applied, there's no way they'd fall off...................honestly
