OK,

So far I do not have a single working satnav GPS program working correctly on the Eclipse, I have found the following:-
  • TomTom refuses to boot
  • Co-Pilot, screen freezes and no audio, Google voice works but sounds like a Darlek with no volume control, very quiet
  • Google maps, no volume control and Darlek voice again.
  • IGO tells me there is a file error and will not run
  • All others cannot get any voice directions that I can hear all very low volume

I have installed Google TTS, but cannot find anywhere any setup program, it just seems to run in the background.

So, does anyone have a descent GPS Satnav working that has descent traffic information on it.

I use Waze, that downloads the voicepack when you install it (on a tablet btw). Give that a shot.

The trouble for me with Waze is that part of my 2 hour route to work does not have 3G, so the map freezes part of the way. There is no way to have an offline map unfortunately.

Ah, I use a Mifi dongle. I used to use Nokia Here Maps for offline, it was amazing.

Karl Should i send a Link?
You have to completely Uninstall the original using the Uninstaller and then re-install it .

Sean,

I have managed to get it running, it does crash every now and again then refuses to run until I reboot the machine.

As to Co-pilot and the others with low volume, I have solved this but going into the factory setting and lowering the volume for radio, it was set far too high. Unfortunately the muxing on audio does not work but I can live with that.

Hi!
I've got some more questions about the Eclipse unit.
-Did anyone get the Wifi tethering from phone working yet? I didn't.
After setting the password, the unit says there's a verification fault.
Did I just enter the wrong password or did I miss any other setting?
-I chose for a unit without DAB+, but I'm afraid I regret that choice.
Could I still get that option after purchasing the unit?
-I'd also like to know if the dark oak front is available aftermarket.
Best regards, Jarno.

I have the wifi tethering working from my iPhone 6. I set up a personal hotspot and it finds it straight away, login and its working. Due to limitation or security of the iPhone I have to reset the the tethering each time I want to connect.

The password is what you set on your phone.

The tethering function on the Eclipse only works if you have a 3G/4G dongle, and to be honest I am not sure when you would use it as you would connect to the dongle direct.

Update to the IGO Nav always starting in Hungary, on advice from Sean I deleted ALL of the saved files on the GPS SD card , uninstalled IGO with the uninstaller and rebooted the machine. Then installed IGO from the GPS SD card, rebooted again. then ran the program. For the first time IGO asked me for the initial setup and at last it now boots into my present position.

However TMC traffic is still not working, I have looked at the SYS.TXT file as discussed another forums and it has the correct http file, but still nothing, anyone have any ideas.?

Thanks for the notes.

I had just got to the same point of deleting the contents of the save folder and like you now have it letting me choose destinations properly. I am not yet sure if ALL files need to be deleted from that folder, but will try and pin that down.

For others with the same issue - do not delete the folder, just the contents of it. If the folder is missing it does not seem able to save your settings.

Have you got TTS voices or the GAjK skin working by any chance?

Mike
