As all our springs are ageing, new ones make sense.Any recommendations for new suppliers / makers?

I had to replace both my back springs on my ZT-T when garage spotted my left rear had snapped when repairing a puncture. Checked the code whilst wheel was off and went to local motor factors and bought some orange rear springs to replace them but when I replaced the drivers side it was brown.
Checked the sticker and I needed brown springs. So back to motor factors for some brown springs but couldn't change orange ones as they were special order so have some orange springs in my garage.

The incredible hulk seconded that after we had a spring break after the car was stood on a axle stand . We have also had the windscreen crack on the nearside near the bottom after having the car jacked up on the o/s/r during cold weather. Coincidence or not I don't know, but know of at least another two 75 / ZT's that have suffered this. one I know had been jacked up similar on a jacking point. I now always jack up either front or rear with one jack placed in the center of the car.Even if working on one side.I put axle stands at both sides and leave car level side to side rather than put stresses corner to corner by lifting / supporting on one side only Coil springs are a problem on aging cars not just the 75 / ZT unfortunately one weakness with the 75/ ZT they often take the tyres which in the wrong circumstance can be dangerous |
