Drove to Cardiff and back via Wellingborough (to drop off some wheel bolts for Mogodon).
514.8 mile round trip. Been home an hour, off to bed

Finding myself in Aberdeen for a few days, with a nice flat driveway..... sorted out the front tracking (was 2.5 deg toe-in, hitting puddles at speed becoming a trouser browner) - and checked the rears were still at parallel +/- ~ surprising considering the work done at the back end.
Drove to the BMW dealer to order handle for rear cover, and a Mini handbrake to steal the cable compensator. The parts guy asked if I had a 75.... Prepped for the 440 miles back tomorrow. Also replaced console and bushes, and repaired dead central locking on the Polo - but that doesn't count :-) |

Lower engine mount
Thought I would change the mount, ordered from Matt last week tonight was first chance I,ve had to do it, took around 25 minutes from putting car on ramps to driving off. Good job I did although it looks quite new there was a very fine split through it. Up A1 to Killingworth in the morning see if its made a difference.

Lower engine mount on ZTT
New one fitted. Easy job and glad I did it as the Mondeo one was shot at the smaller engine end bush. Thanks DMGRS. Still left that under tray off though....Plenums done, no water but a lot of leaves, amazing how much 'c**P' can get in that chamber though. Always worth a check.

I hope you have both added some grease to the inside of the cap or the thread on the valve, these can and do weld together due to the chemical reaction of the two metals, my son had the same problem he tried to add air to his tyres one day and none of the caps would come off seized completely he had to have all the valves cut off and then had to have all new ones fitted expensive caps £40 lighter after the tyre place sorted it out for him, so please be aware

Cars have feelings.......................
..................Especially when they are up For Sale.
Got the Bear's EML sorted out. Took her to MJS who plugged her in, the fault code was 1633 and reading voltage drop/poor earth. Well they checked everything electrical. And the light stayed on. Done the battery disconnection and left it off for about 20 minutes. Re-connected the battery and the light stayed on. Finally they traced the bad connection to the earth cable from battery to boot floor. Removed, cleaned and re-attached. No more EML. Drove home sweet as a nut. But she is still For Sale.

Wynn's Power Steering Stop Leak - any good? how to mix?
I had noticed the power steering become noisy during the summer - did some searching around topics and diagnosed it as air leaking, getting drawn in and making the fluid appear foamy in the reservoir. Before doing any spanner work, I discovered 125ml tubes of this Wynn's Power Steering Stop Leak, so I drew off the corresponding amount of fluid and added this stuff. Anyone tried this? Other thoughts? How long should I expect to wait before it diffuses through the oil in general? - because the reservoir itself is not really in the flow... so unsure it will mix in there well.
