Hi

I still can't get this to work. Thanks for the adaptor, Jeff. But, it doesn't fit the back of the Naval 3 unit.

The adaptor doesn't fit.

I think you have a cable missing Ravinder, an adapter for that bottom socket.

Long time between posts Rav

It will fit but your unit is an early Navall 3 and had an SMA (brass coloured screw thread) connector .
When these radios were supplied they came with an SMA to DIN aerial adaptor and the adaptor I sent you pops into that.

I'm not sure I have any of those adaptors left at work as they became redundant very soon into the Navall 3 production run as that adaptor was dropped in favour of a standard aerial socket on a flying lead out the back.

I'll check to see if I do have any tomorrow when I'm back at the shop

I'll never understand why they did the radio aerial differently on the Navall 3. One of my biggest issues with mine was that it constantly tried (and failed) to tune to a stronger signal. My Wince and Naval 2 never had any issues and now I have a Symphony back in the car that doesn't have signal problems either which leads me to suspect the aerial connection on the Navall 3 - in fact driving from Wigan to Morpeth last weekend listening to Radio 2 it changed frequencies at least 3 times without me really noticing, the Navall would have been almost constantly cycling between frequencies and I would have been stuck listening to static
