Slide the clutch pedal off the pivot shaft by removing the clips at the end of the shaft and also on the master cylinder pushrod, grease up the shaft bush on the pedal with LM grease (as well as the end of the return spring) and put it back together - should give you a quieter clutch pedal.

Mine was doing this when i got it, very creaky and a click feel to the pedal. After greasing the pedal and every joint i could see it was still doing it.
Finally worked out it was the plastic backing plate on the pedals rubbing against the bodywork. Just undid the bolts on the bottom of the plate and slid a thin bit of plastic behind (like the clear stuff used around toys etc) and it's been fine for years.

If you remove the clutch pedal, take care not to drop any of the bits down the back of the carpet - they are a mare to recover! Also, be careful with the locking clips on the ends of the shaft. They damage easily and once off, the shaft can move sideways. Also take care not to lose the plastic insert that the return spring goes into, or the plastic pedal/shaft inserts (all easy to drop when your fingers are greasy. + being upside down with your legs in the air!!)

This,

The pedal box is rubbish and flexes against the metal bulkhead. Lube it up, and the problem will go.

Good tips there - I lost one of the pedal inserts when I did mine, until I found it behind the carpet !
