I've been steady with it, once the belts have been done and the dead vis motors replacd I'll give it a try.

My red ZT's first belt change was back in 2007 on 60k, its an early 2001 model.

The second belt change was 2011 on 75k, that is a 4 year 15k interval. These belts had a 2010 marking.

The third belt change was last year in 2016 on 100k, that is a 5 year 25k interval, and the tensioner was already worn.

I'm presuming the forth belt change will be in 6 years, I'm predicting the car will have only done 12k more miles as she is not the daily driver (she is currently sitting on 2016 made belts).

Took engine and cam cover off and luckily could view important info on the belt, Rover in big letters then 100410. So I assume this means January 2010 when the belt was made and been put on after that date at some point? Car has done 40k since 2010 also

It is possible to get old trying to decide whether or not to get the belts done.

My advice - just get them done based on mileage or time, whichever occurs first, and enjoy driving/life.

Alternatively, decide to take the risk and if it occurs, live with the consequences of your decision like a man.

Im with the ' if in doubt get it done brigade', peace of mind is all. If the car cost so little why not spend the £500 and get it done, if you have the money dont keep your money for that rainy day, get it done. The hard shoulder of the M6 on a rain soaked winters evening at rush hour is not somewhere anyone needs to be. Chris.S.

Sadly not as LHN100410 is the part no. for the belt.

You need to look for the 8 digit number that dates it.

That's the condition of my main belt.. the 2 smaller ones looks almost as new.
Car has 107k and was bought knowing it needed belts.. the car is going in for them and the water pump doing as soon as they arrive from DMGRS.
If in doubt pull the covers off and have a look..
I'm assuming original belts still fitted as I can see no evidence of them being changed.
The 75 is a 2001 model and at 107k..

That's actually in a better condition at that age and mileage than i would have thought.
