Default Insurance Cost

Got my annual renewal notice from Aviva today via e-mail. Their message went on at great lengths to explain the reasoning for increased insurance costs. Apparently it's all due to a shortage of spare parts, increased cost of labour, increased costs of materials, the European energy crises, and inflation.

After all that, they gave me the quote, and it's gone down from last year!

£229 down from £237. Not a massive reduction, but better than the anticipated increase.

Oh, and Nora is doing fine so far, just finished her chemo

That's expensive. I would have thought mine would be dearer than yours given the proximity to the M25 an London etc. I do wonder how they come up with some of these prices .

Last year i got amazing service from POST OFFICE insurance fully comp in the ZTT CDTI for £320 with loads of perks like legal protection, key + window protection and protected NCD. Phoned em up last week to report a minor incident and they accused me of being a careful and considerate driver as only had one of the three strikes allowed per year on the ncd protection of which i have 9 years worth. underwritten by Aegis, disgusted.

EDIT

Aegis said to expect a small increase this renewal due to the minor incident but it wouldnt be much due to the fact i am indeed a careful and considerate driver i never really looked at ncd before like that yay. haha. ok sold.

Had my renewal from Aviva this morning. We have had a good 3 year run but sadly it's come to an end.

This is very close to the price I had from Footman James with a guaranteed valuation.
