Stu - in view of the ever increasing list of animal species at the bottom of your posts, don't you think it's time someone put in a word for the duck billed platypus?

Morning all - been absent for a couple of days, but life has now returned to normal after helping a friend with an urgent problem
Despite what others are saying, it's a better morning than we've had for some time up here- sunny, dry and although there's still an edge to the wind, it's quite pleasant. Must be the Lord looking after his own

I cannot believe it's Friday (aka shopping day ) - again. My life is passing me by at an enormous rate of knots.

Good morning Rodders it's the lull before the Storm

Doris!.... I always wanted to get jiggy with Doris Day
Good morning Ian, that's not very nice having a bad cough like that.

Here is a link to Doris Day's own site, she is still going strong and promoting her K9 charity, what a lady

Good morning Phil - sorry to hear about your latest batch of health problems - I'd hoped that 2017 was the year when you had none of them for a change
You must have been awfully evil in a previous existence to deserve what you've had to put up with in this one. Best wishes (from both of us) for a speedy return to rude health

Good morning Phil I sound like I'm a 50 a day woodbine smoker I rang the Dr's for an appointment as my chest is yellow if you know what I mean & the earliest available was the end of the month. I declined as it will have probably cleared up by then.

she does marvelous work for animals, good on her. Thanks for that link I'll have a good look at her site. I still have a 45rpm of hers on my jukebox Que sera sera

LOL

I am paying the price for the misdeeds of my youth, smoking, drinking and womanising Rod. I have had a good life and had some fantastic adventures. I can't complain

Can you remind me please of the dates of your caravan safari in the summer?

Cheers Ian, understood about your cough. How dire that you can't get an appointment until the end of the month.

Another heart throb before our time still going strong is Dame Vera Lynn. Next month she is planning to release an album to celebrate 100. I was listening to an interview she gave yesterday on the world service.

When asked of her favourite time, she said it had to be when she sang to the boys in Burma. Her favourite song is "We'll Meet Again" and she never sings in the privacy of her home these days, preferring her memories. Bright as a button
