As said above, Wheeler Dealers without Edd won't be Wheeler Dealers....

Don't dislike Mike Brewer or Ant Anstead, but the show won't be the same

Go to YouTube and see Edd China's video as to the reason.

Basically because it is now made by Discovery, they wanted to reduce the amount of time spent on the cars and cut corners. Edd didn't want to do that, so decided the time is right to leave.

Wheeler Dealers won't be the same, but I hope that Edd has something up his long sleeve and will soon be back.

Sad to see Edd go, Wheeler Dealers won't be the same without him.

Surprised he didn't leave sooner! How on earth he put up with Brewer for 14 years, God only knows

very polite and pleasant, yet so damning against the US side of the production and how they have to sell their souls to make shows sometimes.

The most recent series, I did notice it was a little stunted or something. Edd China didnt seem too comfortable, and especially with Mike getting his hands dirty too. Just seemed weird in my view.

the love of cars I felt was weak, in that it was an almost elitist version of Car SOS, yet hollow of substance, but that was probably just me looking for technical viewing. Car SOS itself was an alternative version of Wheeler Dealers, where you saw a little wheeling and dealing with Tim rather than the technical input. I am not sure Fuzz can do the work and present it (I think he would be like me, get stuck in, but carried away and forget to take pictures, in his case presenting lol).

I did enjoy A car is Born, but think that could be too specialised to make a long running show. (I am not interested in planes or bikes lol)

I always got the impression that Edd China was passionate, not only about the cars etc, but also about people taking up their tools and learning to do it themselves. I do hope he will be involved in something similar

Agreed, thanks from me too Cliff. I will continue to watch the programme, and will give the new series a whirl when it comes to freeview, but I echo the sentiments of others, won't be the same. Ant Anstead will never fill Edd's shoes, and lacks the detailed descriptions Ed gives while carrying out the work.

Car SOS is a (poor) imitation of Overhaulin' with Chip Foose,
