Hi Dallas,

Dont know if you remember but a few weeks ago I told you i had ordered a unit from a site you put up.You did say that it might not arrive...........................................w ell surprise surprise.......................................... ..........................It didnt.lol

but I have filed for a refund with E-Bay which has now been done so nothing lost..

Why do these sites do this sort of thing They dont get any money off you as you get refunded

Reported this on Friday evening and logging into paypal I see that the excess charges have been refunded in full. That's pretty good service.

Now I just have to find a day when I'll have the time to try and fit the actual unit!

Excellent news, I said there was nothing to worry about.
How long did your order take to arrive from China in the end, 5 days is the quickest (9 days is the norm).

I have to say lightinthebox do offer exceptional service, I've never known a retail/company like them, and I've worked in retail for over 25 years. Some of our British retailers could learn a lesson or two, but as always it will take us another 10-20 years until we reach such high standards.

Got the radio removed, eventually - the "block" at the rear was a real struggle to undo as the wiring loom didn't have much stretch in it, so that I wasn't able to bring the rear of the radio out of the dash but instead had to reach my hand into the gap and try to unclip it blind. Plus the piece that slides up just wouldn't budge for ages!

Anyway - is the mounting frame/fascia surround posted on page 1 of this thread - this one - still the recommended one for mounting the unit I bought to our cars?

If you get the MK7 fascia that you've linked to, there's one thing to be aware of, which is that it has no tangs on the lower edge like the single din fascia you'll be removing.

You'll need to either fit metal tangs to the new fascia or improvise some other way to keep it flush with the rest of the console.

Theres nothing lost by going for these cheap deals. Theres always an outside chance they will honour it, and if not eBay refund you anyway.
