"Karrakatta" on the slip at Husvik and surplus to requirements. Ever resourceful, the men cut access to the boiler room in the ship's side. Each day the boiler supplied steam to the workshops.

All that's left of HMQS Gayundah, a flat-iron gunboat operated by the Queensland Maritime Defence Force. She entered service in 1884 and was decommissioned in 1921, and used as sand and gravel barge in Brisbane. In 1958, Gayundah was run aground at Woody Point near Redcliffe.

Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia.

Indeed I was.

Most of the pictures were taken where I was working at the time, and others during family holidays.

The Little Mermaid (Den lille Havfrue), Langelinie Promenade in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Social Democrat politician Mette Gjerskov tried to post a photo of The Little Mermaid on her Facebook page but was initially told it had "too much bare skin or sexual undertones", and the post was blocked. Facebook later rescinded the ban and approved the image for posting.

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. After many years I've been trying to sort through a veritable mountain of pictures, negatives, and slides. I hoped that a few of them would be of interest.

Cheers,
Jim

An unusual craft being towed down the river outside the Singapore Technologies Marine (STM) Shipyard. It is actually the dumb barge Jolly Roger II, used by the Singapore Navy for target practice.

STM Shipyard, Benoi, Singapore.
