Vandalised
Yobs must have been out last night as my passenger door mirror is now hanging, having been wrenched out of its socket. It is a manual unit and the glass still adjusts electrically, but I cannot fathom how the casing fits back into its socket. Any advice appreciated. I cannot see any broken bits lying around.

So darned- annoying and frustrating .. There is a post on here regarding repair of the main stem , and one for the cover repair. I have seen with my own eyes morons in gangs doing flying scissor kicks to car door mirrors whilst walking home doing one after the other, from the pub. Absolutely disgusting ... leaving someone else with the cost and heartache of repair. Failing a repair , provided the cover is in a repairable state , then a used item is an option , and hopefully you find a cover matched one. Makes me so angry ..

Typical of todays moronic age. They have nothing, because it is spent on booze or drugs, and resent anyone with something they would like themselves. No punishment issued out by the law, if they go to court that is. My 2.5 Connie suffered the same criminal damage when my son owned it. Hope you manage to get it repaired easily.

The white metal pivot is usually what breaks, can't be repaired. The post xsport is referring to for repairing the stem is this one: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...ad.php?t=40915. Its an excellent fix, I did it as a temporary repair on my old 1.8T after finding the mirror dangling by the wires in Tesco car park. So effective it was months before I finally got round to replacing the mirror. Even still allows the mirror to be folded in.

Had this happen to my R25, the culprit in a passing gang of yoots was caught on a neighbour's cctv in the early hours. He looked to be showing off to the females in the gang as he let fly with a kick to the mirror, for his trouble the mirror left him walking away with a very peculiar gait. It raised a smile as I watched him struggle to conceal his pain from the cohort he was trying to impress. It too happened in the month of March and in the midst of a beast from the east. I struggled to effect a repair in the freezing cold and it was meant to be temporary while I sourced a replacement. But soon after the other door mirror received a bit of unwanted attention and while only its paintwork was damaged it resulted in damage to my enthusiasm to maintain the mirrors as I would have liked to. The repair remains to this day and the replacement which came in a pair from an ebay auction still sits in a box in the garage.
I might be wrong but did project drive not result in the use of R25 mirrors on the R75? |

It gets worse. Last night the b******s did the same to the drivers side mirror!
That can be no coincidence. Am I a target for some reason? Doubt it. I have been a Councillor for the past 23 years, but have no enemies as far as I know, and have lived at this address for over 70 years with no anti-social behaviour previously. |

Some Local scrott is the perpetrator. Get a camera up in your window of the bedroom focused on the car. They might start on the tyres/windows next. I hope not.
