Default Tonight I was asked

Tonight my daughters boyfriend came over and asked for my approval to ask my daughter to marry him.

Nice fella to come and ask something that may be old fashioned.
I told him yes as he is a nice bloke.

Keeping with that fine tradition.....Isn't it the Father of the Bride who pays for the whole shebang

Seriously though.....sounds like a proper gentleman and I wish your Daughter and future Son in Law all the best

Great to know that by following tradition, he impresses his future father-in-law. Good news all round.

Fantastic to hear how he conducted himself macafee2

I aske for my future wife's hand in marriage to her father.
He was an ex policeman and I was a bit of a vagabond.
He had big hands like me and when always shook hands together we always gripped tight until are fingers went numb, like a show down

He said yes and the I surprised her with the engagement ring on Christmas Eve 1999

I am always a great believer in chivalry . . .

I have never been sure how I would take to a boyfriend. This chap is hard to dislike so-far and my daughter seems so happy.

He already has the ring and she the dress.
