Favourite pitch
Alas my favourite CL is now closed. Been going there for 25yrs but the owner has retired. It was just outside Skipton, Yorks at a hamlet called Draughton. The CL had 4 pitches on an upper level and one on a secluded lower level known as "the honeymoon suite" It was a few yards from the steam railway. (Pic) There was only the old rail bed when I first went and over the years I have watched the railway being rebuilt and it now runs from Skipton to Boulton Abbey station 2 days in the week and all weekend. Happy days but so sad to lose it. Question is where do I go now? The picture was taken Aug last year on my final visit prior to closing at the end of the month.

I havent stayed myself, but there is one near Leek its not a CL but the choo choo's do run past it according to a friend. Glencoat or Glengoat or something like that cant quite remember, we were talking about the other day. Not sure how close you can pitch to the line though

The CL part was up for sale for development. Behind me there is a large building which used to be a mill. My van is on what would be there carpark. Couple more pics. 1st one is the owners house, 2nd is the upper level and track down to my van.

What a site for sore eyes... a lovely sight altogether Getting on for 35 years in Sweden so cut me a little slack
Didn´t think these places existed. Pity everything has to be -developed- ie make more money out of the property. Again my ignorance but what is CL? CC, yes but can´t think of what CL would be |

Thanks for the info. One of these would be just the job in retirement. Summer months with the site and winter in Spain or the like
