Underneath the rear removing surface rust off the suspension and anywhere else. Rust killed -will prime today and paint tomorrow.
Fixed a diesel leak Friday-clip on top of fuel pump and put the Renault 5 thermostat in as well. Handbrake next!! |

Taxed it for a year. At £320, £30 more than last year.

Today I removed the inlet manifold from my daily due to a suspected leak,
Upon removal I found it had indeed been leaking from 2 seals, cleaned it all up and fitted replacement seals and all seems well again. And then onto more serious stuff, I noticed the drivers footwell was wet, it then dawned on me that the plenum was blocked, I rodded it and a deluge of water came out. I couldn't believe the amount of tree debris in the plenum, it will become a weekly check from now on. It was then dried and hoovered clean, a new pollen filter fitted and it looks good again. |

Diesel up on the ramps. To check the lower mount,
the under tray was extra heavy due to the sponge being waterlogged , some plenum rodding needed after the recent monsoons. Noticed the handbrake was worse since fitting the new rear discs, So that's the next job . Took off the NS boot hinge,to reseal as had a persistent damp patch under that area. AWaiting the next downpour. NB..the 260's boot is bone dry so it can be done C.. Ps. Anyone know the odd hex size of the 4 x 5mm nuts that hold the number plate light / badge bar on ? On on the 260 is loose. And the daft screw thread is too long for a normal socket

After watching "Hooked on classics" you tube video last on the egr bypass I had a quick look at mine today and ended up blocking the vacuum off which essentially disables the egr.
As the weather was nice I went for a decent drive just to see how the car behaved. Well it certainly felt alot more responsive and less laboured.

Yes I know what you mean. The last twelve months with the rain and wind have been bad for leaves and other debris getting in everywhere. I have had to clean mine out more often. By the way, are you going to the Gaydon meeting later this month?
