Default 1999 2.5V6 R75 Connie SE *WITHDRAWN FOR NOW*

Now, I know I'm preaching to the choir, as in most people looking at this forum will already have the car they want, but, here goes...

I originally bought this one with a view to breaking it for spares. However, when I went and collected it and drove it home, I decided that it was far FAR too good for that and really deserves to be saved. I've umm'd and ahh'd about keeping it, but with 7 other cars at the moment, space is getting a bit limited!

I'm no David Bailey (as you can probably tell), but armed with my phone, I've gone out and taken pics of all the shiny bits

There is a small mark on the back bumper (well, it is almost 16 years old, so it's not doing too badly)

Proper Wood

Full leather, with drivers memory seat. Heated seats, electric everything else.

Electric sunroof (tested & working)

And the service history.

Bought New, Hartwell, Telford. 22/10/99 and registered on 25/10/99

Serviced.
Hartwell Wolverhampton, 14/8/00 (no mileage recorded)
Brindley MG Rover. Wolverhampton. 25/07/01 (30052)
Brindley MG Rover. Wolverhampton. 17/05/01 (45128) I think this should be 17/05/02???
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 18/08/04 (67846)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 22/08/05 (70637)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 04/08/06 (73300)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 09/08/07 (75740)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 16/08/08 (80236)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 15/08/09 (85903)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 31/07/10 (89597)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 20/08/11 (93115)
Husselbee Motor Services. Essington. 18/08/12 (96695)

Now showing 117,989

2 keys (1 still with the Rover emblem, the other with both buttons AWOL). Remote central locking working (unlike my Diesel Connie).

Price for quick sale, £350 OVNO due to the fact that I have no history for the belts having been done. They probably have been judging by the service history, but I can't confirm it.

I'll be honest and say it's not perfect, but then, very few 16 year old cars would be, but with a bit of very light fettling, this would be a keeper for someone. You maybe

That looks lovely!! I do love the early cars and I so would if only I had some more space...

Have you tried calling any of those garages to see if they have any record of the belts being done? From past experience most garages are happy to have a quick look on the system and look for an invoice.

Now there's an idea. I'll give that a try tomorrow

It's OK John, I didn't park in front of her drive to take the pictures. After the other day I wouldn't dare!

I should add that John H has seen the car in the flesh/metal so to speak (in case you hadn't already guessed from his post above) and I think was a little bit tempted .

Correct Dude, it was tempting, but can't do a two and a half to make em laugh engine especially if I expected the MPG that my diesel powered 75 provides me. But this is one horny car folks so worth a look and become tempted to buy and enjoy this lovely car !

I've withdrawn this car from sale for the time being, as, with the rain of biblical proportions yesterday, I've noticed today that the carpets are damp.

This means that there's something wrong, and I'm not about to sell someone a car that isn't right, MOT or not.

The weather is supposed to pick up this weekend, so I shall go out there and investigate, find the problem and fix it. I'm suspecting sunroof drains (oh joy!)

At which point, I shall also take it for an MOT, so it will be re-advertised (at a higher price) with a full 12 months MOT on it.

Once the sunroof drains are secured lift the carpets up by the sill and park her on an incline and wet vac underneath as much as you can get to and park her on an incline and stand on the front carpet and the water will trickle down to the rear footwell. Vac that out and then with the carpets pulled back I stuck an oil filled radiator in the car for a few days with the window down slightly and was almost dry after a few days. (Thats if you dont fancy removing the entire interior!)
