What happens when you click the split screen icon ? The one on homepage top between the save and favourite 2 stars ? anything

If you cannot do this with your mouse , you can turn it off (if it is in split screen mode ) start / settings / multitasking .. you can turn it off . do a search for instructions.

That has fixed it

Was not familiar with that procedure ; when I pressed the windows key and the left cursor key the window moved to the left side and was half screen width . I was then able to drag it to full width with the mouse and both the toolbar at the top and the taskbar at the bottom were displayed , just as I want it .
I have since switched off and restarted and all is well , so I believe that's a fix .
I have no idea what happened to make this problem , but did have dreaded update from MS 2 days before so I will blame that

Interestingly I don't have such an icon ; guess I haven't enabled it

Anyway , as said Rogue has sorted me out

Your not wrong about the ms updates chris. They seem to throw out all of your personal settings , including browser extensions. This again after my forced update from microsoft,left me without yahoo log ins and cannon printer. All back up and running now , but will have the same again next time .. i suppose.

You can also use the left Alt key and the left and right curser key to go backwards and forwards a page at a time.

My five year old grandson has a habit of tapping random keys on my keyboard. Some of them, I have no idea what they are! I soon find out after he's visited!!!
