Default Hvac problems

Would you believe another 75 CDTI has made home in our tiny French town, a 300 euro special, 2002 LHD and really not too bad. I offered to service and sort small problems (reversing lights etc). The main problem to sort is the cabin blower is not blowing! The aircon panel is working and the temp changes with the buttons. The under bonnet 40amp fuse keeps blowing.

All advice appreciated.

Hate to say it but I think its a dash out jobbie if it is the fan.... that means a FULL interior strip out..

Just looked on Rave and it says it can be done by removing the pedal box.... then getting in from the drivers side

No need to take dash out. Fan access is in right hand foot well. Disconnect the fan and see if the fuse still blows. The speed control transistor pack is on the left near the top of the accelerator pedal. Its unlikely to be the transistor pack as it is in the earth side of the wiring.

Hi Andy, would this be the same position on a LHD car?

Any advice on getting to the blower fan on a LHD CDTI apreciated. Without a fan I fear it may render the 75 to scrap in the winter! This part of France is very hot in the summer, but very, very cold in Jan/Feb!
