Default Rover 75 Mk 1 Tourer - severe vibration ONLY when accelerating

Could this be an inner driveshaft problem ?
Severe vibration felt through car ONLY when accelerating up to around 30-40mph.
Also when accelerating through a RH bend and when accelerating up a hill.
Vibration decreases at higher speeds, so am able to cruise at motorway speeds with no problem.
