So this afternoon, I made a start on the wheel arches. Took the offside rear wheel off, and saw this:
Spent a happy couple of hours deep cleaning the arch and the rear of the wheel, then put the spare on and went off to a tyre place in search of a repair. The tyre guy looked at the tyre, then slowly removed what can only be described as the worlds smallest screw. In a strange way, I was kind of disappointed, but at least there was no damage to my wallet. On the plus side, I now have a spotlessly clean off side rear wheel arch. Oh, and next week I should be picking up 4 refurbished Sepent wheels and centre caps. Cliff

Bet that is a relief not just on the wallet, and must admit that in my opinion that the Serpents look superb on the 75, and it will look stunning with them on Stu |

Cheers Stu. I must admit I do like the fact that Meteors are so easy to keep clean, but I've had the Serpents tucked away in the attic for far too long.
My current thinking is that I will keep the Serpents for the summer months, and perhaps revert to Meteors during winter, but I guess it all depends how good a job the refurbishers make of them - they're quite tatty at the moment. Cliff

I don't blame you to be honest. They're a nice looking wheel, and a breeze to keep clean.
In my case, my Meteors had picked up one or two scuffs and are in need of a refurb, so I had to bite the bullet and get either (or both) sets of wheels sorted. Getting the Serpents done is simplest, as I could just drop them off, then have them fitted once finished, without losing the car for any time. I do wonder how long it'll take me to miss the Meteors though!. Cliff

With sincere apologies Cliff for diverting your post but I need to update his holiness.
My new badge arrives tomorrow, so water washed the car today ready for a good polish once the badge is fitted. Goes without saying that your car Cliff, even when dirty, outshines mine after I've cleaned it! |

Feel free to divert as much as you wish Alan, we're all friends here. Besides, you have to keep The Reverend happy - he has friends in very high places!

All 4 wheel arches now spotless, just in time for a trip up to see Lates on Saturday, when it's supposed to rain.
I use the '75 in all weathers anyway, but it would be nice if it could stay clean for more than a few days. Cliff
