Where do you park yours?
Hi everyone, just wondering where do you park your Caravan? I have had mine stored in secured storage and recently store and pitch on a site about an hours drive away
Anyway I brought it home to get some work done on it, and have parked it to the rear of our house, you can see it is tucked out of the way, however one of our neighbours has had a rant today saying that it has to be moved as it is taking a parking space. Now there are no designated parking places for individuals, nor are there any restriction notices or permits in force. The person in question is shouting 'obstruction' and then went and parked her car in the middle of the area, double parking another vehicle (hers is the Beetle) even though there were visible parking spaces. Now I have not said I am not going to move it, just said it is here for repairs, just tempted now she has kicked off to take a little longer on the repair. Oh and when I move it, I think I will have to park a nice 75 there. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate her point, but the van takes no more space (width) than a car does, so van or car the space will not be there, I also know that if a caravan is parked on a Highway (by which I mean a road used by passing vehicles) then it has to comply with Highway regs, regarding safety, lighting, reflectors and obstructions... But in a case like this, it is not causing an obstruction, emergency and service vehicles can easily access all areas, no passing vehicles are likely to 'not see it' So does anyone else park on a highway? nicley tucked into the corner A Neighbours statement

are you sure your van is no wider then a car?
I would explain that the van is there fore repairs, apologise for the inconvenience and ask her the bare with you. I say this because you don't want to risk the van being damage. she may have thought this was it's new home. macafee2 |

Can see both sides to this one. Can you not do the repairs at the site? If not maybe leave a note on the window saying it's under repair and won't be there long.

I did some extensive repairs at home with one of our caravans and as it was going to be on the road outside our house (our then driveway had a heck of a slope) so I told our neighbours and all was fine.
One did ask "It's not going to be there long term?" so I think many people worry about what people are going to do if a caravan suddenly turns up on the road where they live. |

No she generally parks all over the place, however issue is resolved now....I sold the caravan.... now I have taken up the same space with a Rover 75
So she gains nothing !
