Collinite 476S is great for winter over a freshly polished car. Lasts for ages as has been said. However, if you want to protect your car, it's underneath that you need to worry about most, as it's what's going on under there that you can't see that decides your car's future one way or the other.
Get it waxoyled, is my advice!

You're quite right though - it's what goes on underneath, away from sight, that makes the difference. Had mine treated by Rustmaster some years back and always give it a good check over before and end of each winter, cleaning the underside and topping up the Waxoyl where necessary. Arches get a thorough "wheels off" clean each month (probably a bit OTT if I'm honest) which also provides a good opportunity to make sure nothing nasty is lurking underneath. Cliff

That's a polish, not a wax/sealant so it doesn't add protection. If you have polished your car, then you should wax it after and keep on top of it.

Rav, I believe that Autoglym does contain some wax. I use it and it's not a bad general purpose polish.
My cars don't shine like many on the forum but I only polish once or twice a year. Extract from FAQ on the Autoglym website follows: Q: Does Super Resin Polish contain wax? A: Yes, Super Resin Polish does contain a protective wax. If you would like to extend and prolong that protection, apply High Definition Wax or Extra Gloss Protection afterwards. I expect that a dedicated wax is always going to perform better as a sealant for long-term protection. |

Yes, some polishes do contain some wax to help with the shine and protection, but yours still best using a dedicated wax on top once polished for lasting protection. I personally, wouldn't just polish without waxing as your hard work will be undone in no time, otherwise.

I noticed a white residue on my 75 when I went into the garage this morning, I tasted it & yep Salt I've see the gritting lorry out three times at night time in the last week or so, the road outside is a local bus route and it always gets gritted.
Just gave it a snow foam wash & wipe down, need to give it a good waxing soon.

Sorry, what?, hang on!, err..... Have I just read that right? 1) you noticed a white residue on your car. 2) you thought you'd taste it!! 3) it was salty... Apparently they've not actually started the gritting round your way yet. 🤔 Now it might just be a warped sense of humour but it brought a tear to my eye reading that post 👍 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hmmm big yellow gritting truck, orange flashing lights lighting up the living room as they pass at 11pm & later! must be pixie dust they're spreading then.

Mine had a machine polish, and wax the weekend, used Collinite Marque D'Elegance 915. Great stuff, really gives you a deep shine. First picture was taken about 4pm on sunday when it was starting to go dark.
