Laptop battery replacement: Genuine v Non Genuine ?
Mine is now completely dead and won't charge at all now.
Is it worth paying the extra for a genuine one or are they all the same? Genuine. http://www.laptopsandspares.com/orig...60-battery-1-2 Non Genuine http://www.laptopsandspares.com/dell...o-3560-battery Never had to replace one before. |

I'd always tend to replace with an original if possible as some of the aftermarket ones can be shall we say iffy.
How about these:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...ttery&_sacat=0 If it was me I'd be buying this one just because of his feedback alone http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Origin...AAAOxyVVJR~ND1 |

Given the low price differential I'd say original. However I have had good results with aftermarket batteries in the past.

Lithium batteries consist of two parts, the battery cells and the safety bits preventing the battery cells from becoming terrorist cells. You might lucky with aftermarket batteries, but the cheap ones may strip out the overcharge/discharge protection which makes it more likely they'll burn your house down. Personally, I would advocate always buying original (lithium) batteries, and the same on lithium battery chargers for basically the same reason. This is one area it really, really doesn't pay to go down the cheap route. |
