Thanks Wes. Not quite brand new mate but it should keep her good for many years. I am really hoping to get our.cars together next year.

Cheers Jonty

A cup of tea and a chat always available. Refurbed wheels should be with me on Tuesday or Wednesday so when you are in the area you can take.your pick of hairpins.

Car needs a NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- good clean so I am desperate to get her off the stands. My handy grit blaster in work has said he will do the suspension sub frames in January so happy days. I need to figure out if I go for paint or powder coating

A couple of updates. I am trying to get the exhaust fitted, Its all going fine but the alignment of the drivers side is being a bit if a pig.

Anyway the mirror caps fitted

and the under side ready to fit the exhaust

Showing the petrol tank strap and brake lines

and the tunnel ready to receive the exhaust

And finally the cross braces ready to fit with new stainless fastenings

Hopefully the fight with the exhaust will be complete tomorrow

The Battle with the exhaust is over thank goodness.

I will take some pictures in better light tomorrow.

To fit the twin exhaust there was quite a lot of pre work to be conducted to give me the space.

1. I had to knock up a new bracket for one of the hangers
2. The fuel tank breather filter had to be moved which was handy because it gave me a good point for the second hanger on the driver side silencer. All the pipes to this bit had to be re routed as well.
3. I fitted additional rubber idolaters on the 2nd exhaust cross member and above the y piece on the hand brake cable holder at the back end of the tunnel.
4. The Wiring for the rear pad sensor had to be re routed as it was too close to the silencer
5. I had to make a heat shield for the rear suspension headlamp level sensor as it was too close to the exhaust for my liking.

Firstly the new bracket for the hanger on the exhaust. I made this our of stainless

The whole under side stripped and under sealed ready to receive the drivers side silencer. You will notice 2 x additional M6 thread inserts toward the back end of the chassis rail. This is to bolt the new bracket.

Next up the breather canister fitted with new hoses as its new postion is slightly further away from the original

I also made up a bracket for the canister to make it more stable.

Then fitted into position and re routed the pipes and and cabling

Finally the the bracket and hangers fitted ready to receive the silencer.

More photos to follow in better light tomorrow

The exhaust is now fully fitted and mounted. I do have a sllight issue with the right hand side when the the exhaust expands. The tail pipe moves to the right in the cut out. It used to do this with the car it came off so I suspect something with the bend radius or something. I will have to sit down and have a think.

Anyway a few pictures of the run

Splitting around the spare wheel well

The new mount on the right rear

The new heat shield to protect the light suspension height unit

The new mount for the Y piece

The run down the middle with the refurbed cross members

the final look at the rear end

I prefer the twin pipes but as this exhaust was free beggars cannot be choosers. Once the car is finished I may get a couple of tail pipes made up with twin pipe exits.

The car is now waiting on the wheels and I can get it MOTed. It has not run for 3 months since I put iut on its stands and it ran on the first turn of the key I will fit my old black hairpins to move it out of the garage so I can get the Contemporary into the garage to prep her for selling. I am hoping the wheels will be ready this week

Blimey how much of a coincidence is that!!! Probably sold by the same dealership in Slough

So the car is out the garage now as I prep the contemporary for selling

The refurbed undertray was fitted and will never look like this again

And the jacking point pads were refitted.

Finally the car was dropped onto the spare set of wheels I had and moved out of the garage. I did take her for a quick drive to check all my work. One scary point when the throttle stuck so I need to check that out

All my toys one behind the other waiting for some more of my time.

The good news is that the wheels are ready for collection so I will pick them up on Tuesday

Its been a while but I have been sooooooooooo busy at work.

Anyway the wheels were completed and the front are now back on the car

and a reminder of how they looked.

The wheels were so badly corroded in areas that they had to be blasted back to bare ally, surface prepped, primed with etch primer, hi build and then painted. The body shop said it took some coats to get the finish. I have also treated them to new centre caps with the correct badges (bought from another member on here)

Even now the finish is not perfect but I am pleased with it. These bad boys were very corroded in areas (worse alloys I have seen on any car I have owned!).

The fronts are fitted but the rears will go on this weekend.

I have a couple of tweeks to do before taking her for MOT:-

1. More adjustment on the handbrake as I am not happy with the amount of clicks to get the handbrake on
2. Sort the sticking throttle
3. Bleed the clutch. Not sure why I didnt do this before it must have slipped my mind
4. Change the gearbox oil.

Also she is in the middle of another clean up as she has been sat around in the garage for a while

Took delivery of a set of Red Monacos today.

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=262130

I should be concentrating on the small mechanical jobs I want to do for the MOT but I suspect I will be cleaning these up and getting them fitted

Over the moon with this purchase. Not sure what to do with the old seats yet
