2005 Rover 75 Contemporary SE CDTI
Hi everyone,
A some members will be aware I have bought a new car so I have decided to sell one of the fleet and it is with sadness that I am putting our R75 Contemporary SE up for sale. Her build details are:- Born 18th August 2004 102,314th 75 off the production line 328th 75 CDT Contemporary SE (135) to be made out of 849 729th 75 in Pearl Black to be made out of 1,554 We have owned her for 3 years in which time she has been our daily hack (particularly for the wife). She is a 135 CDTI auto with only 85K on the clock. Full service History (MGR, independents or myself) with all receipts and the mileage is guaranteed. MOT runs until August 2017. If the Contemporary model is unknown to you then here is an introduction to the model spec (personally I think they are the best models for the R75). Factory fitted Xenons with headlamp wash system Auto Wipers Auto Dim rear view mirror IPK (mine is lined so could do with Klarzy skills) Folding heated door mirrors Heated washer jets Black Oak dashboard Heated, electric, Memory leather seats Electric sunroof Cruise control Traffic master (now defunct and I have replaced the system) HK sound system Reverse Sensors 17" starspoke alloy wheels. Modifications or changes to the car I have done since owning it (all in keeping with the MGR design) Fitted a facelift ZT front bumper but fitted with MGR Rover badge and Mk1 stainless grills Viton seals fitted to the intercooler pipework EGR Bypass (original will be supplied with the car) PCV replaced with filter less BMW unit Gold resistor on fan Sunroof drain mod (no wet carpets) Bonnet cable mod Plenum mod (plenums regularly checked and cleared if needed ) Mk1 wheel nuts and locking key (horrible Mk2 ditched)# Wince Radio head unit for SATNAV, IPOD, Bluetooth (phone and music), Memory card, USB, Radio. I had to disconnect the HK amp to get htis working so the HK amp will be supplied with the car. ZT perforated leather added (steering wheel, Gear lever surround and handbrake) Other jobs that have been completed in our ownership which these Diesels normally have fail (receipts held):- In tank fuel pump changed as a precaution. Correct Bosch unit used Alternator changed for correct unit due to failure Crankshaft Damper and belts changed for correct MGR unit due to CSD failure. The car also has a removable tow bar which I have never used so it has sat in the boot I have deleted some of the PPD bits that i thought made the car a better place Carpet closures Rear lights access panels Rear Ashtray fitted in rear cubby hole The Contemporary interior is a nice place to be and the seats are fantastic. I had the drivers Bolster repaired when we bought the car And the rest of the leather is in good condition. I will supply the dye with the car the car still has some original stickers around it which is a nice touch The exterior paint work is pretty good with some age related marks. Bonnet Passenger front wing Roof Drivers rear door Drivers door rear bumper (this is frustrating because this was not here a month ago!!) Door edge You can see by the photos she is a straight car and the PBT paintwork looks really good Engine bay has been kept clean (not show standard!) The boot did have water ingress when I bought the car. The guy i bought it off attempted to stop the ingress but failed. The water was coming through a seem under the rear screen ( A facelift problem) but since repairing I have had a dry boot. I recently had some ingress through the rear screen clips which I have sealed and all is dry again. I have just serviced the car and it has had a full fluid change as well (Coolant and brake fluid changed) and she runs at the correct temp for a CDTI and not too cold Underside is fairly original and could do with attacking in the next couple of years to keep her prestine. As part of the sale I will also be supplying a new set of rear discs and a facelift ZT exhaust surround (I was going to fit a stainless system this year as its still the original system which will need replacing at some point). The wheels have been refurbished and have good Prestivo tyres (made by Yokahama) with 6mm tread on them. One issue I have never resolved is that the fuel tank can be a pain to top up if you use the cheaper diesel that froths up.I have read that R75 saloons suffer from this and I never got around to investigating why. The wife and I got the knack of topping up though so it didnt seem too much of an issue to us. Apologies for the long winded sales pitch but I think thats her in a nutshell. I have tried to give a complete honest picture as I know how frustrating it is to travel miles to a car and its not as advertised. I would be looking for £2300 for this car but maybe open to offers if she does not sell in a few weeks or so. Any questions then please PM me. Cheers Jon
