Great place to visit City of Culture or not. I don't live there but often pop over for a day trip. Kids loved The Deep. Also William Wilberforce house/museum, nice tour on an ex deep sea trawler as well. City centre very pleasant. Got a lot going for it in my view and this year should raise its profile even more as it does seem to get a bad press now and again. Humber bridge nearby, Then nice drive down to Spurn point for a bracing wander. Get yourselves over there.

Fully go with above comments,Jan & I have had the family down to Hull quite a few times to all the above mentioned attractions, fantastic venues with loads of History on offer.
The surrounding area offers lots of variation for tourists definitely well worth a visit, many thanks for posting up some great pics of some of the City attractions on offer for this year of culture Rich, really have to get down there for a visit soon. Just had a thought Rich, you can't tie in a meet to coincide with all this could you? anyhow mate well done for bringing this to our attention look forward to getting down there soon. Regards.....John.

I was born and lived in Hull until I was fifteen years old when I left home to join the Army. I still go back occasionally to see my mother and family. It will always be a special place to me along with Newcastle.

The projections up the buildings look superb! And the stories they tell puts some perspective on the history we have here, and indeed how much of it was lost forever during the war.
