Double din aperture

Are there any aftermarket double din head units that fit in the aftermarket double din fascia adaptors without resorting to the dremmel?

Thanks for your reply however I was referring to head units that fit the adaptor with the double din aperture not the navalls / wince etc

The Rover 75 fascia aperture measures 172mm x 97mm which is to small for most universal double dins units with a 178/180mm x 100/105mm size.

I think Halfords stock a Kenwood DD which fits the Rover fascia, but its a pretty basic style DD.

There are certain DD's that are made for certain apertures such as this one HERE...... 172mm x 98mm.

BMW do two aperture size fascia plate sizes... HERE... 173x98mm and 180x105mm

I have fitted a Kenwood DNX-series d/d navigation/music/etc into a fascia surround bought from e-bay. Kenwood unit is pricey new but first-class. I recently bought a newish, reasonably priced, one off the 'bay to fit into my v8. I've had one in my v6 for many years. If I can I'll post a pic if you would like to see how they fit. Alternatively, if you've the money, Alpine has a new unit designed to fit directly into an E46 fascia.

Couple of pictures attached. Installation is fairly straightforward but can require a bit of ingenuity. This particular (DNX7240BT) model has a full width touch-screen, it is now quite elderly but does a decent job. E-Bay is the predictable source for units. Kenwood still produce more contemporary models, at a price; or again eBay is a good source of perfectly adequate more recent variants. I have just installed a similar, newer model in my v8 . There's numerous optional functions available through the unit, dependent on what you connect, as can be seen in the second picture. I'm content with solely the tuner, usb, dvd and navigation. I find Garmin navigation maps to be easy to use, read and understand. Map upgrades, if available for older models, are a little pricey and the fixed units seem not to have continual free updates offered. Unlike the "stick-to-a-windscreen" units.
