Default What a dreadful day !!!!!

Not car related but am sitting here in agony !!!!

Was laying a nice new patio today for SWMBO in the garden.

Was levelling the seventh slab with a large rubber hammer, got distracted by the dog and hammered my fourth finger.

Finger is now black, grossly swollen and I can't bend it and is VERY painful and throbbing.

And SWMBO has suggested anything to put off doing it :-O.

Robert, I've done exactly the same thing in identical circumstances!
Let nature takes its course. In my case I'd damaged my nail and it eventually fell off to reveal ....
... a new one underneath!

Think I'll go and look for my hammer.

I dropped the lid of one of those plastic garden bunkers on my finger, had a very similar effect, probably produced very similar language as well.

My finger from the knuckle up is now blacker than a coalmans pocket !!!!!

The language was rather colourful.

If the nail is black, drill it, it will relieve the pressure.

Go and get it checked out just in case. I use Co-Codamol 500mg for my fingers when needed. reduces the pain, but does make me sleepy.

I Find the Reverend James has a similar effect, and I am not religious -slept like a log the night after slamming my fingers under a metal hatch and partaking of a few of the above mentioned refreshments

However next morning a trip to A&E with two very black fingers did reveal a couple of fractures
then they started to ouchy a little - so I went back to visit Reverend James and after a few all was good in the world again

Been there and done that Andy - tried burning through with a soldering iron, but as it was a pocket gas powered one, there was a bit too much heat from the burner.

Pretty much instant pain relief after a very careful bit of drilling with the Dremel though.
