Well I've got her back from the garage at last and the pedal is as light as a Japanese Datsun ! It took a while due to me needing to order some oil seals and then the garage not being able to start the job until yesterday. The great news is that the AA paid the first £500 and I settled the balance of £219 so well pleased. The reason for the failure seem to be my wife driving in high heels riding the clutch. The 60000 mile clutch was getting close to the rivets and the slave cylinder has melted. The reason I believe this because she drove me home from a function on Saturday in our Mk1 MX5 and when changing gear she was making it sound like an automatic ! Not sure how to approach this issue but can't keep putting in clutches due to poor driving !
