handbrake wasn't brilliant, so after trying to adjust it i ended up replacing the rear pads and discs and handbrake shoes but at least the handbrake works properly now

Well bit the bullet and took Greyscale out for a longish run - many of you will remember that didn't work out to well last time.

From Teesside went the coast road through Sandsend to Whitby then on down past Scarborough before heading over to Beverley and Goole, dropped on to the M62 , then M18 M1 to Chesterfield where I had a bit of work to do, then home to Teesside via the quick route M1/A1(M) and A19.

Being paranoid about how well the cooling system works and whether any residue of that damn K Seal is still going to create problems, I had the temperature on the dash display the whole way. Especially with it being a gloriously hot day... and

The result is....

The temperature varied between 94-98 all day only hitting 101 once in traffic through Scarborough when the fan dragged it back down in short order. The car behaved itself all day- in fact was a delight.

Now I can start to feel more confident that it will be as reliable as a car of her age can be.- but I might not use it for any Pan European trips just yet

I'm off now for a few days ( work )so while the weather is good I tackled changing the oil and filters. Oil change went nice and easy and then I tackled the air filter. In the past I've had some fun and games trying to refit the cover and was dreading messing around with again today, but to my relief it fitted back together with no problems at all..As usual the motor factors tried to give me a fuel filter with the plastic drain on the bottom which I refused. This type won't fit properly as it sits to high and fouls the bonnet when you try to shut it. After a little persuasion the assistant looked a little harder on his computer and found the right one.
Happy days again :-)

Started it up for a few minutes, I was going to use it over the next few days whilst the coupe is in for bodywork but the new Fiat 500 is quite addictive

Fitted MG7 rear lights. Look good, but quality seems to be a little lacking, lets hope they are ok.

The last sold ordered 75 Tourer. Paid for by the Phoenix Four and handed over by John Towers to the Warwickshire Northampton Air ambulance service as a Rapid Response vehicle
