Default ABS warning comes on but only when I turn hard left

As above, the ABS comes on, and stays on until I turn the ignition off, where should I start looking?

I'd look at the off side wheel sensor wire, it seems it may be routed wrongly in the wheel arch.

In the left-hand front wheel arch Joe. The sensor's cable has detached itself from the clip on the suspension strut and is coming into contact with the tyre when you apply full lock, thus triggering the ABS warning light.

You'll need a new sensor I'm afraid and they are difficult to remove.

Default Solder

If you are handy with a soldering iron you can often fix the wire if just worn through in one bit
Need to heatshrink over the join of course to keep water out

Thanks Simon, how do check or access the suspension strut to see if its an easy fix, (like Chris says),
or its a trip to the mechanic...again...

Simply remove the wheel. You should then see the ABS sensor cable flapping about with an abrasion where it has come into contact with the tyre.

My apologies, as mentioned, it could be the nearside sensor wire. If the offside, then you'd have reported speedometer problems.
