Oh dear, I hope both options will be available on the GS. I have been getting quite excited about that.

Hi.
I wonder if the whole lot will get pulled if sales are so slow. How many MG3's were sold in the UK in 2015?

Just had a look at the National Franchised Dealers Association site (www.nfda-uk.co.uk) which has a lot if interesting data on car sales.
Total MG sales for 2015 was 3152. Up to May in 2016 they sold 1560. I think I read somewhere that they only sold about 600 facelift MG6's. Not a huge amount but sales of MG3's seem to be increasing year on year. Typical that they pull the plug on MG6's and they then go and win a round of BTCC! Mike |

Even compared to Skoda before the VW tie up its low. in 1987 Skoda sold 17,000 cars and they were a low unit importer. I really think MG must do better to gain sales, perhaps some decent advertising or sponsoring on a UK wide scale would help.

In my opinion they just aren't MG's. They don't drive like an mg, they don't look like an mg and they have a certain stigma attached to them thanks to the failings of those greedy gets who stripped mg-rover down in the end. I've been in the mg6 and it's uninspiring, dull inside and no more exciting to drive than a mondeo. You can't slap a badge on something and pretend it's got all the heritage and history piled into it, BMW Mini anyone? Lol

why dont they just bung the 1.5 turbo engine from the GS in the MG6. I think the reason for poor sales are a knock on from supplying it with the 1.8 engine in the first place. The damage was done at the outset, the diesel came too late, everybody was past caring. BTW I think the GS is awful. The interior looks like it comes from a 1990's peugeot.
