Default Leaks but I love it!

Hi everyone! I have a 52 plate 1.8T club se tourer bought as a bit of a work hack to be honest but as soon as I drove it I loved it! Cost me £380 with 65k on the clock and tonnes of history, due a cam belt but seemed like a deal! However, after a week or so I started to suspect the carpets were damp, checked the plenum but it was dry, still leaking a lot though! After further inspection the plenum was blocked but definitely no standing water. Where else might it be leaking from?

On a second note, how do I find out the production date of my car? Seen a website but sure I recall there is an easier way.

Great forum by the way!

Does the car have a sunroof?

Also check the seals on the rear lights. They are known to split and slowly fill the car up with water

No sunroof thankfully as they sound like a pain to clear! Spare wheel well is dry. Didn't know rear lights on a tourer leaked? Not sure if that's the reason though, I originally thought the rear chrome trim so parked on an incline with the rear facing down and the cabin still filled! Only checked the passenger side so far, drivers side seems a bit squealchy too though

That was my first suspicion as they seemed a bit loose but I have removed them-no issues there

Still leaking Has been off the road now for months because anytime it rains, it floods. Really want to figure this out! Sure it must be something simple but at a loss, as it is, it's a very expensive, if handsome, garden ornament! It is definitely a leak from the front, tried a smoke bomb inside to see if it escaped anywhere and there was no trace. Plenum scare clear, no sunroof, all seals seem okay, what else could it be?!

Ref the rear light seals.....This only happens on the saloon Cars.....Not the Tourer

Have you checked the chrome trim round the windscreen? I think this might be the problem with my diesel.
Oh, and make sure all the scuttle panel clips are there too

I had the same with my saloon and the waist trim looked ok but I added a spot of silicone sealant to the back of each clip of the rear trims on the inside of the car and the leak stopped...
