I have chosen not to receive any royalties from Groupon as I can't be fussed with that setup, but genuinely wanted to help out fellow members by highlighting the offer. I am with you, for encouraging Phil to pay his £10

Don't get me wrong, if anybody can make a few quid anywhere legitimately, fair play to them.

I just think posting links without declaring they contain referal codes from an account that hasn't even bothered to pay the basic tenner a year is extracting a sample for analysis somewhat.

I saw the original thread you posted about the air con refill and linked to it on Lady Zed's thread about air con. It was/is a great offer and more than one of my mainland friends benefitted from you posting it in the first place.

To generate that, I copy and paste it from either google or groupon's home page.

To generate that you have to be signed into your Groupon account, click generate referral link and then copy and paste it - if all you wanted to do was spread the good word why would you bother generating the referral link?

When someone uses your referral link you get £6 and you get their details on your comission statement - and that's a problem to me. If I want you to have my information, I'll give it to you. If you get it because you misled me, I'm thinking that's not so cool.

That's a shame - best tenner you'll ever spend.

Technically of course, if you're registering to generate referrals that make you money you're a trader - that costs a bitty more than a tenner, but I'd get accused of pedanticity if I pointed that out
