Default T4 - quick question

Apart from T4 (and maybe TOAF ) are there any other professional programmes which work well on our cars to correct say a corrupted BCU ? A local auto elec firm say they have such software and don't need T4 to correct the problems I incurred after disconnecting my battery the other day
I wonder whether to let them have a go .
see here for my previous thread http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=267709

I wouldn't have thought so, even if they did I think it would cause ZCS coding issues

Give it a shot Chris, if you get stuck, I'll have a highline BCU I can programme up with your key remote data

Well , that was a waste of time ! Apart from making my seat move they didn't achieve anything . They now admit I need t4
I am off to Roverlink in Widnes for a T4 session ; fingers crossed .

YOu don't need a full T4 session, simply ask them to reconfigure one of the dealer options, say enable lazy lock and lazy vent and once T4 rewrites the coding data to the BCU it'll work

All fixed I went today to Roverlink in Widnes for a t4 session . The BCU was reconfigured to a different country setting and saved , and everything worked again . We then reset it to UK and everything still worked . lovely to have the aircon back on in this current weather ! Only took 15 mins in all and the chap there was friendly and helpful .
Interesting sideline here ; one of the symptoms was no aircon , and the fan failed the Demist test just as if the low speed on the motor had failed , but it was restored after the reset I had always taken the demist test to be proof of a duff fan .
Happy days again .
Thanks to all for your input , especially Brian for giving me hope !!
