Default What you think about it?!

So last week I was past MOT, by the mechanic I was advised to change a drop link if I want to pass the mot. So obviously I told them to change it. In the end I got new mot without any advesory. But I notice some clunking in my supension, and thats what I found out today.

somebody has cut the old drop link out, slipped and ruined your strut? possibly ruining the new drop link too.

there's no rust or corrosion yet, so denial will be difficult. I would start the conversation with them by asking how the link was removed, did it have to be but out,
explaining that the knocking is back. hopefully they will answer yes, at which point you tell them they owe you are strut. which will need to be replaced as a pair of course.

any issues, armed with your photos and your pass certificate, (which shouldn't be) , report them to vosa.

that is just not right! as well as dangerous.

My goodness, that is so bad...If it were me, I'd report them anyway. Its just no good having this sort of work done with an MOT bay in the same workshop. They need to be struck off. Steve

Go after them with every thing you have and take them to the cleaners.

As well as reporting them to VOSA.

What they have done is disgraceful.

If I'd made that damage myself I'd just clean it up and seam weld it ,clean it up and paint it.
But cus professionals have done the damage and you've paid for a professional service I'd be straight round there demanding replacement

That is very bad indeed. It looks like all the oil and gas in the shock has escaped. Surprised a bit of a knock is all you noticed, would have thought it would have been bouncing all over the road. That garage is one to stay well clear of. I dont think i would even trust them to do the repair.

Well it wouldnt bounce all over the road, not untill all the oil is exhausted, and that would take a while.
Also, its not a slip, the kackhanded idiot has held the disc there a long while.
On top of that, hes given you an mot knowing what damage hes done, and it will end up being dangerous.
Vosa need to know about it

I think the mechanic responsible should have admitted to his mistake as none of us are infallible and of course then made good the repairs at at no extra cost to yourself. The fact is he thought you would never be aware and thinking he has got away with it is absolutely disgusting. God forbid if you were to be involved in a serious or fatal accident and your vehicle was seized for a mechanical defects inspection the s*** would really hit the fan.

Thought it was a hacksaw cut at first, but the curve on the edge of the cut suggests a cutting disc. I'd go absolutely ape

I got my car back from the garage, all nicely done they changed new strut, new drop link and new top mount.
The mechanic who done previous job is fired from that garage and is reported to vosa by garage owner. And as apology I been offered £100.00 off from next appointment for labour and next MOT for free.
So I'am quite happy with the outcome, I didn't expect such a great service after I shoved the damages what they been done to my car, I even didn't ask for any extras just demanded to repair damage.
