Default 2004(04) mgzt+ 1.8t **SOLD**

Facelift MGZT Saloon in Silver Metallic, 94,500 miles with full service history (last serviced about 1 month ago). It's taxed to the end of Jan and the MOT is due in June.

My car for the past 2.5 years, in which time I've covered about 47,000 miles, without any significant issues.

From memory (and I will have all the receipts somewhere), during my ownership the car has had the inlet manifold gasket replaced, a Gerry T piece fitted, a new radiator, new rear springs, new rear discs and pads (only a few months ago), and probably been serviced 4 times! If it needed something it got it, it's as simple as that.

The car runs well, but there is what I believe is likely to be a clutch or slave cylinder problem which only manifests itself when the car has warmed up. It is still perfectly driveable, but it is getting difficult to change gear. The clutch does not slip and the gearbox does not crunch gears and changes gear perfectly when cold, hence why I believe it's clutch or slave cylinder related.

Also, there is a coolant leak somewhere (coolant is visible under the car), and before the doom mongers say it's HGF I'm fairly confident that it isn't for a number of reasons. 1) During my ownership there has always been a coolant leak of one description or another and I've done 47,000 miles in it and it's still going strong. 2) The engine was rebuilt due to HGF by the previous owner, which I have a receipt for £1800. 3) There are no signs whatsoever of any water contaminating the oil.

Although there is plenty of life left in this car, due to the 2 issues pointed out above, I'm selling it as a project for spares or repair, for a giveaway price of £450 (no offers).

Must be seen to appreciate how much of a bargain this really is.

PM me please

The car is at my address in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire.

P.S. Some idiot did run into the back of it earlier this year, but it only required a new genuine rear bumper (no damage to the boot floor whatsoever). The paint match is superb.

I've just remembered that it also had a new rear exhaust box earlier this year too!

Agreed.

Will give it a good wash and put photos up at the weekend, but the only blemish worth mention is a very small dent where some kind soul hit the OSR door whilst opening their door (no damage to the paint though).

There are definitely no scratches, scuffs or scrapes to the corners of the bumpers!

The driver's seat side bolster is also worn (was there when I purchased the car and hasn't got any worse).

Everything works as it should and there are no warning lights permanently illuminated either.

It is a decent car, simples!

You'll probably want to know why I am selling it.

I have just started my own business and no longer have the pleasure of driving 80 miles on the M25 to and from my previous employer, although I have to say the MGZT was a perfect companion for these journeys.

I now do 10% of this mileage to and from my office and use my MGTF 160, which is a bit more fun (but not as quiet or comfortable)!

MGZT (and MGTF) washed this morning and ready for it's new owner!

Before anyone asks, the MGZT was dry when the photos were taken! A pet hate of mine is when people take photos of their car for sale when it's soaking wet, thus giving a completely false impression of the paintwork lustre.

Like I say, it's a thoroughly well looked after and decent car.

I have a spare pair of alloys to replace the flaky ones currently on the front. They're not perfect, but much much better than the current ones!

The rear alloys are not flaking and are quite presentable, so the car will look even better than it currently does.

The car will be advertised elsewhere later this week.
