Default Wi-Fi USB For Wii wanted

HI GUYS

My Daughter managed to get a Nintendo Wii for Christmas and she wants me to connect it to the internet for her, I have read the instructions and it says and you can connect it thru you computer with a USB Wi-fi dongle that you plug into your Usb port has i do not have a wireless router, I have had a look at the one that nintento do and they are around £30.00 which i think is a bit priced over the top , There must be ones cheaper out there that will do the job, can anyone point me in the right direction of any sites that does them far cheaper then an nintendo one.

Look forward to your replies:Santa1:

Thats not a bad Price Actually. IMHO.
Might as well buy a Wireless Router and add your Computer to that and use that route.

I read this post with interest. My daughter also had a Wii for xmas. I didn't read about the internet connection in the manual....

Anyhow..

I have just tried the USB dongle I have for my wifi network (not nintendo one). It doesn't work. The Wii sees my network and I put in the password but it comes up with an error message. Nintendo have some fancy software that comes with their USB pack that you have to install on your pc to get it to run.

Hope this helps..

I connect my Wii through my wireless router. Up to yet I have not played any games online, only downloaded some classic Nintendo and Sega games.

There are plenty of Wii forums run by good people.

That would be an option, but you have to buy the LAN adapter at around £25. But I am sure you could get a wireless router for around the same price
