Rover 75 1.8
Noticed today after driving the car around 10 to 12 miles that the fan comes on and the temperature guage needle drops to the blue mark then rises slowly, just wondering is this normal. Roan |

Should have said in my last thread the temperature guage doesnt seem to show any over heating problem.needle seems to sit half way then for a good while then fan kicks in and needle drops to blue mark.

If you are low on coolant the temperature probe can become uncover (it is submersed in the cooling system and coolant is all around it), it therefore cannot read the coolant temp. Therefore first thing I would check is coolant level and if has dropped, then investigate if you have a leak. Check level when cold.

Check the sensor cable. The sensor is screwed into the front RH end of the head.

Cheers TC
Not really sure if i looking at the correct connection, but pushed the spring in and give the connection a clean and the two wires seem to be ok. The connect i looked at was on a T connect just behind the water resevior, passenger side of the engine front. Will have a better look at it tomorrow and clean better and see if it helps, if not will but a new one as seen them on Ebay cheap Respect TC Roan ps:Just wonder if i take the old connection out will water come out,is it just a matter of topping up water again.?
