No more driving in coolant temp diagnostic mode! For someone with very basic car skills (weekly check type stuff) how easy would this be to fit in its 'made up and tested' package? If there is no one nearby to fit the kit, a pictorial 'idiots' guide from one of the more skilled members would be very useful.

Please forgive my ignorance but would the temp. ranges/limits mentioned in this thread for the i-bus be suitable for all engine types? I ask as I am a paranoid owner of a 1.8t. What is the danger range of temps for this engine?
Thanks Marcus |

package and postage
I ended up ordering 50 small boxes 180 x 115 x 27 mm that will fit a standard mailbox.
This way postage to the UK and most of Europe amounts to 4 euro only. Registered mail is 8 euro if you so prefer. To add it all up including package and postage. Option 1. DIY kit - standard mail 41 euro. Option 2. DIY kit - registered mail 45 euro. Option 3. Assembled tested - standard mail 49 euro. Option 4. Assembled tested - registered mail 53 euro. On second thought I prefer you order by email to my normal email address. Please specify the length of ribbon cable you want and of course your shipping address. My email address is: [email protected] which is also my paypal account. Hans |

length of ribbon cable
It all depends on the separation you envisage between the actual display and where you plan to mount the electronics circuit board.
This is the main reason why I kept the two separate. Have a look at the pictures in previous posts. I mounted both in the unused driver side cupholder so a short cable is sufficient. You can assemble the cable yourself using a small vice. Cut the cable to the required length and press the connectors on. Hans |

Hello Hans,
How does the circuit board connect to the I-Bus? Is there a spare connector for this or do we have to get behind the instruments? I guess you'll include detailed instructions, but I was wondering. Many thanks for your efforts. TC |
