Had a quick phone around. Powerfolw (MMV Performance) in Stirling £340 and C&C (Hillington) £356. Much the same I suppose, both from the CAT to the back box and 304 grade Stainless Steel.
An suggestions on how I break the news to the wife?

you could try these people http://www.venommotorsport.com/produ...tegory=Exhaust

For £266 I got a cat back system then got a local garage to fit it for me because if your car is like mine it still had the original exhaust system on it and had to be cut to fit the new one.
It has a very deep tone especially at 2000 rpm and a nice back fire on gear changes.

Out of interest, and I'm trying not to spend cash at the moment (just spent £300+ on a SS exhaust for my TF) so i called Kwikfit and Budget Exhausts.

Kwikfit said the ZT 2.5 160 is not listed and cant give a price until they see the car on the ramp Eh, I think not, I'll not be hanging around a Kwikfit place at their convenience

Budget Exhausts also said the car is not listed, but took the car details and will call me back.

Will let you know what they say.

I'll call them tomorrow pab. Ive got their details here . . .
R M S Engineering Ltd

It's not easy finding an exhaust off the shelf! Budget Exhausts said they cant do it, as the back box is a dealer only item, so they couldnt touch it. Imagine, a 52 plate car and its a dealer only part. I remember the days you would go to Kwikfit and Budget and they would snap your hand off for business!

I'm swaying towards Venom http://www.venommotorsport.com/produ...tegory=Exhaust as recommended by martinwest in a previous post. My local garage will fit it for £30 as long as its a straight fit with no problems so £290 fitted.

Well pab, I gave RMS a call and they came up trumps! Spoke to George who was the most helpful person I have spoken to sicnce looking for an exhaust overt he past two days. Manufactured and fitted for £180 + VAT, so about £207 with a choice of sound and finishers.

What is amazing is that you cant buy a mild steel on for this price. The so called main dealers are quoting £166 + VAT for a back box and mid section £117 + VAT! they are funny! Now it gets worse, I called XPart, they have none in stock and dont know when they will be getting them in. They also said they are looking for a supplier for the exhausts as they dont have one at the moment!

I'm booking a day off from work and arrangng with RMS to get it fitted, so thanks for to everyone for the tips, hints and advice, and thanks to pab for suggesting RMS.
