The trouble with Photobucket is they've progressively overloaded every page with scripts for adverts and other stuff you're not interested in. They provide 'free' hosting but these scripts are where they make the money to run things. You could pay a subscription of course and that will reduce the ads somewhat. Anyway, you can't do the things you want to do until all these scripts are loaded and running on the page. This is where things often go pear shaped. I was also thinking about moving to a different host, but decided against it when I considered the vast effort needed to transfer/duplicate all my stuff. I found a reasonable solution using a script controller plugin. I browse with Firefox which has zillions of free add-ons and plugins to do all manner ofthings. One called NoScript stops all scripts from loading.
Of course most web pages these days need a script or two to work, but Photobucket's come by the sackload and it's reasonably easy to filter out the stuff you don't require. I can now use Photobucket almost as easily as I did when it first started. Pages load in a second compared with the endless waiting I had before.
